The Santa Barbara Education Foundation has been busy kicking off the 2025–26 school year by celebrating and supporting the educators and leaders who make our schools thrive.

The season began with our Program Directors Luncheon at the University Club, where the leaders of our many programs came together to share updates, exchange ideas, and build momentum for the year ahead. This gathering sets the tone for a year of collaboration and innovation.

Next, at our annual Principals’ Breakfast, we welcomed district leaders for meaningful conversations about the opportunities in the year ahead. It was a chance to reaffirm our shared commitment while connecting with one another before the first bell of the school year.

We also hosted the New Teacher Lunch, welcoming educators who are just beginning their journey in Santa Barbara classrooms. Each teacher received SBEF welcome gifts and gift cards to help them in setting up their classrooms, along with our gratitude for choosing to dedicate their skills and passion to our students.

At the SBUSD Kickoff Event, SBEF joined in welcoming teachers and staff back for another year of inspiring students. We were honored to be part of the celebration alongside the vibrant performances of SBHS Folklórico, which highlighted the energy and talent in our schools.

And finally, at our annual Music Teacher Gathering, we distributed donated instruments. We awarded $20,000 in funds to support music education in Santa Barbara Unified schools, and we connected with community partners like Opera SB, the Santa Barbara Symphony, and the SING! Program to help strengthen our musical community. This support ensures that students across the district continue to have access to the life-changing power of music.

These events reflect what back-to-school is all about: connection, celebration, and setting the stage for a strong year ahead. SBEF is honored to stand alongside our educators and partners every step of the way!
