This internationally renowned curriculum provides motivated student with rigorous, honors-level coursework and emphasizes the importance of the social and personal attributes outlined in the IB Learner Profile.
The full Diploma Programme consists of curriculum in English, foreign language, social studies, science, math, and the arts. Students will delve into Theory of Knowledge, write an Extended Essay, and participate in a community service component known as CAS.
A student may also participate in IB by choosing individual IB courses to fulfill graduation or elective requirements. These students will receive a course certificate for each class completed.
Santa Barbara Education Foundation supports the IB Diploma Programme at Dos Pueblos by fundraising for student exam fees. The International Baccalaureate Organization says low-income and minority students who take IB classes do as well as their peers from higher-income families when it comes to high school graduation and college enrollment rates, but access for low-income students is still low.International Baccalaureate exam fees create a barrier to access for low-income students. By covering the cost of these fees we are making the program accessible to all students who are elligible to participate in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme.[/nectar_highlighted_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”full_width_background” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][vc_video link=”https://player.vimeo.com/video/114946298″ align=”center”][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”20″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”left” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom”][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”40″][testimonial_slider style=”minimal” star_rating_color=”accent-color” autorotate=”7000″][testimonial star_rating=”none” title=”Testimonial” id=”81d7d749-b371-5″ tab_id=”1567034190074-8″ name=”Current IB Diploma Candidate” quote=”Preparation wise, I can’t imagine any program that would be better for college. I think that the research aspect of IB and the extreme depth of knowledge required for some classes really helps a student think outside of the box. IB is about learning a subject more than preparing someone for a test. IB provides a nice common ground between people with very different backgrounds…I can talk about Canada with the student from Canada next door and we’ve both learned about Vargas in the same History of the Americas class. Classes like ToK or IB Art provide background and some confidence to discuss those subjects whether I take another class in that area or not.”][/testimonial][/testimonial_slider][divider line_type=”No Line” custom_height=”40″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row type=”in_container” full_screen_row_position=”middle” scene_position=”center” text_color=”dark” text_align=”center” overlay_strength=”0.3″ shape_divider_position=”bottom” shape_type=””][vc_column column_padding=”no-extra-padding” column_padding_position=”all” background_color_opacity=”1″ background_hover_color_opacity=”1″ column_link_target=”_self” column_shadow=”none” column_border_radius=”none” width=”1/1″ tablet_width_inherit=”default” tablet_text_alignment=”default” phone_text_alignment=”default” column_border_width=”none” column_border_style=”solid”][nectar_btn size=”jumbo” open_new_tab=”true” button_style=”regular” button_color_2=”Accent-Color” icon_family=”none” url=”https://dospueblosib.wixsite.com/ibatdphs” text=”Learn more on the DPHS International Baccalaureate website”][/vc_column][/vc_row]
